The California Department of Housing and Community Development’s (HCD) Division of Federal Financial Assistance is creating a new five-year Federal Consolidated Plan (Con Plan) for Fiscal Years 2025-2029 and has developed surveys to receive feedback on California’s housing, homelessness, and community development challenges, barriers, and needs. Dorris General Plan Update Visioning Survey
Thank you to everyone who responded to the City of Dorris General Plan Update Visioning Survey. The survey was open between March 11th and July 31st. The community’s input, as reflected in the attached document, will play an important role in framing discussions at future workshops, and will be used by the City to inform and guide decisions relative to land use, safety, open space, conservation, circulation, and noise throughout the General Plan update process. The time, assistance, and opinions you’ve shared are very much appreciated.
Elections
The City Of Dorris has nomination packets available at the City Hall for anyone interested in running for the offices up for the November election. The positions up for election are Dorris City Clerk, Treasurer and 3 council seats.
The nomination papers must be returned to Laura Bynum, County Clerk no later than 4:00 pm on August 8th, 2024.

Siskiyou County is developing an Active Transportation Plan (ATP) to build a transportation network that meets the unique needs of our diverse rural communities. The ATP will emphasize improvement of pedestrian and the bicycle connections used to access schools, goods, and services , and other important destinations for children, the elderly, and people with disabilities.
